Review of Deep Sea Diver’s Cover of “Stockholm Syndrome” by Yo La Tengo

Deep Sea Diver – “Stockholm Syndrome” (Yo La Tengo Cover)

The band Deep Sea Diver has brought their own style to the captivating song “Stockholm Syndrome” originally by Yo La Tengo. The cover is part of a compilation called Every Possible Way curated by 3Sirens from East Nashville to support the Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund. Other artists featured in the compilation include Lucius and White Denim. The album is set to release in December.

Alyssa Graham, the founder of 3Sirens, emphasizes the importance of addressing gun violence in America with this project. Having experienced the Covenant School shooting close to home with a young daughter, Alyssa hopes that this compilation will contribute to a safer future for all.

Jessica Dobson from Deep Sea Diver expressed her love for the work of Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund and was thrilled to be a part of this charitable initiative. She chose to cover Yo La Tengo’s “Stockholm Syndrome” due to her admiration for the band’s style and the song’s ability to captivate with its simplicity and catchy melodies.

The tracklist for the compilation includes covers of songs by various artists like Jimmy Eat World, Elastica, Weezer, the Cranberries, and others. The album Every Possible Way will be available on 12/13, and donations can be made to 3Sirens here.
