Primal Scream revealed their upcoming album titled Come Ahead, marking their return since 2016’s Chaosmosis. Following their lead single “Love Insurrection,” the Scottish electronic rock group has now released “Deep Dark Waters,” a song that directly addresses the brutality of war.
The lyrics of “Deep Dark Waters” vividly confront the atrocities of war, drawing parallels to historical events: “We bomb and when they run/ We tell them they can’t come/ Just like in World War two/ We showed no pity on the Jews/ We othered them as well/ Abandoned them to hell/ We say, ‘They’re not welcome here/ Send them all back there.’”
Adding to their recent activities, Primal Scream collaborated with A Number of Names* to create a shirt merging elements from the Palestine flag, the band’s Screamadelica artwork, and Celtic FC’s green and white hoops.
