Pixies’ Latest Single “Oyster Beds” on TunesDeck

Pixies – “Oyster Beds”

Pixies dropped a new single titled “Chicken” featuring their new bassist, Emma Richardson, in July. This track will be part of their upcoming album The Night The Zombies Came, alongside the previously released single “You’re So Impatient,” set to be released in October. Today, Pixies unveiled another song from the album, the gritty, distortion-laden “Oyster Beds.”

In a recent interview with MOJO, guitarist Joey Santiago made it clear that Pixies are not about dwelling in ’90s nostalgia. He emphasized their focus on creating new music, stating, “Fans enjoy the classics, but we are artists, not a tribute band.”

Drummer David Lovering echoed this sentiment by highlighting the longevity of the band since their reunion in 2004, stating, “We have been together longer now than our initial run. We are still passionate about creating music; it’s our ongoing cycle: ‘Wash, Rinse, Repeat!'”

The Night The Zombies Came will be available on 10/25 through BMG.
