Recently, Panda Bear, known for being a member of Animal Collective, has announced a new album titled Sinister Grift. This follows the release of the Reset Mariachi EP produced with Sonic Boom. The first single, named “Defense,” is now available and features Cindy Lee on guitar.
Sinister Grift marks Lennox’s first solo album in five years and was co-produced with Animal Collective’s Josh “Deakin” Dibb. He shared his thoughts on their collaboration:
Creating this album felt special and reminiscent of our past together. Noah and I began recording on multitrack cassettes back in 1991, and now, 32 years later, we find ourselves back in that intimate setting, exploring sounds and emotions that resonate with us. I take immense pride in what we’ve made. Sinister Grift reflects both the songwriter I’ve known for decades and a fresh chapter in his journey. I couldn’t be prouder of the outcome.
In addition to Cindy Lee and Josh Dibb, the album also features contributions from Rivka Ravede of Spirit Of The Beehive and other members of Animal Collective. Additionally, Panda Bear has announced plans for a tour next year. Below are the tour dates along with the music video for “Defense.”
