Obongjayar Unveils ‘Just My Luck’ & ‘Tomorrow Man’ on TunesDeck

Obongjayar – “Just My Luck” & “Tomorrow Man”

Obongjayar, a Nigerian artist now based in London, has teamed up with various talents like Fred again.. and Little Simz. He recently dropped singles titled “Just Cool” and “Who Let Him In.” Today, he unveils two new songs — one vibrant pop track paired with a catchy video and another B-side focused on beats.

The main release, titled “Just My Luck,” is an energetic dance tune reminiscent of Daryl Hall and John Oates’ classic “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do).” The accompanying music video, directed by Uncanny, features Obongjayar dancing alongside a synchronized swimming group. The B-side, “Tomorrow Man,” produced by Kwes Darko, infuses Afrobeat elements with edgy post-punk guitar sounds. Obongjayar shares his thoughts on “Just My Luck”:

“Just My Luck” encapsulates feelings of isolation, yearning to fit in, and the anxiety of not belonging. Reflecting on my times away from the social scenes I craved made me delve into self-discovery and embrace my individuality. Without external distractions, I found the space to explore my musical voice and become who I am today, transforming that early sense of exclusion into a journey of self-illumination! hahaha”
