If you’re craving some West Coast music, look no further. Jay Worthy, a Canadian-born rapper making waves in the West Coast underground scene, has teamed up with producer DāM-FunK to create a new album titled Magic Hour. The lead single from this collaboration, “105 West,” boasts an impressive lineup of California artists.
The track features a silky smooth hook and a verse by the renowned Ty Dolla $ign, alongside contributions from DJ Quik and Channel Tres, both icons of the LA music scene. A-Trak, a Canadian DJ, adds his touch with some scratching towards the end. All of this is set against DāM-FunK’s signature bass-heavy ’80s synth-funk beats, resulting in a polished and captivating sound.
Earlier this year, Jay Worthy and DāM-FunK dropped a single featuring DRAM called “Westside.” The anticipation for the full album release, Magic Hour, scheduled for 7/12 on EMPIRE, continues to build.
