Indie music and Vanderpump Rules come together as Lunar Vacation release a new single from Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire named after a character from the show.
The song “Tom,” released today, draws inspiration from Tom Schwartz, the ex-husband of Katie Maloney. Band leader Gep Repasky shared that the song evolved over time to reflect unrequited feelings towards a coworker who was later revealed to be gay.
“Tom” joins the lineup following previous hits “Set The Stage” and “Sick.” The song will have a unique feature at the Atlanta Braves vs. Brewers game tonight. Braves pitcher Spencer Strider selected three bands to collaborate with, including Lunar Vacation, and will be distributing 5,000 vinyl records from each band to fortunate game attendees. Strider expressed his admiration for Lunar Vacation, highlighting their Atlanta roots and musical journey.
Discovering Lunar Vacation was an instant favorite moment for me. Their Atlanta origin added to my admiration for their music. I feel lucky to witness their growth from the beginning.
The music video for “Tom” is directed by John J. Andrews. Check it out below.
Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire is set for release on 9/13 under Keeled Scales.
