Experience a fresh take on the classic song “Song 2” by Blur, reimagined as a rap track by British artist Jeshi. The new track titled “Total 90” is out now and brings a unique twist to the original hit.
Jeshi shared, “While working on my second album in Paris with Dom Valentino Fredwave and Elijah Waters, we decided to experiment with sampling in a new way. The idea of sampling ‘Song 2’ and giving it a fresh perspective seemed exciting. I felt a connection to the nostalgia of the original track and believed it would be interesting to reinterpret it. It was special to have Blur’s approval for the release, completing the full circle of the project.”
Speaking about the video directed by Will Hooper, Jeshi mentioned, “We aimed to capture a sense of chaos and high energy, and Will executed it perfectly. I am incredibly proud of the outcome.”
