Futurebirds, the roots rock band from Athens, GA, have just dropped their latest album, Easy Company. The title track, a collaboration with Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield, explores the theme of seeking “some easy company.” The song blends elements of ’90s Wilco with beautiful brass sections and keyboard layers. Towards the end, hints of guitar brilliance akin to Built To Spill emerge, reminiscent of The Meadowlands. With Katie Crutchfield’s involvement, it’s hard to resist exploring this track, especially after her impressive album this year. Listen to “Easy Company” below and delve into the full Easy Company album if you’re intrigued.
Easy Company is now available on Dualtone/MNRK.
