Even though Maryland rapper Cordae is still relatively new to the scene, he has garnered a significant amount of support from various artists. Leading up to the release of his upcoming album The Crossroads, Cordae has been making waves. Recently, he dropped a collaboration with Lil Wayne titled “Saturday Mornings” and was featured on Juicy J’s jazz-rap album Ravenite Social Club. Now, he presents a new track featuring Anderson .Paak with production by J. Cole.
Titled “Summer Drop,” the song by Cordae and Anderson .Paak is a nostalgic reflection on childhood summer memories, making it a perfect tune for the Labor Day season. This isn’t the first time the duo has worked together; they previously released “Two Tens” with J. Cole on production. “Summer Drop” was co-produced by J. Cole and Kelsey González, the bassist from .Paak’s Free Nationals band. The track exudes a laid-back, organic vibe with both .Paak and Cordae delivering standout performances, showcasing their undeniable chemistry in the studio.
