Alan Sparhawk, known for his work in the indie rock band Low alongside his late wife Mimi Parker, is set to release a solo album titled White Roses, My God. The album, inspired by Parker’s passing, features the lead single “Can U Hear” and the newly shared track “Get Still.”
“Get Still” follows the electronic trajectory of “Can U Hear,” incorporating synthetic elements like deep sub-base, electronic drums, and heavily Auto-Tuned vocals. While hinting at Low’s signature beauty in its melody, Sparhawk pushes the boundaries of electronic experimentation, resulting in a unique and compelling sound.
The accompanying video for “Get Still,” directed by Ingrid Weise, showcases Sparhawk in a sunny outdoor setting, exuding an ethereal presence. Watch the video below to experience the visual representation of the track.
The album White Roses, My God is scheduled for release on 9/27 under Sub Pop.
