During the early days, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Mob were closely linked with SpaceGhostPurrp and the Florida underground rap group Raider Klan. However, as Rocky’s fame grew, the relationship soured, leading to the disintegration of the A$AP Mob/Raider Klan bond. Recently, Denzel Curry, a former standout of Raider Klan, collaborated with Rocky on a new track.
Set to be released on Friday, Denzel Curry’s upcoming album King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 pays tribute to his Southern underground rap origins with an array of featured artists. Prior to this, singles like “Hot One,” featuring FERG and TiaCorine, and “Black Flag Freestyle,” featuring That Mexican OT, have already been unveiled. Today, Curry shares “Hoodlumz,” a high-paced rap piece with A$AP Rocky and his frequent collaborator PlayThatBoiZay.
Produced by Kwes Darko, known for his work with slowthai, the beat on “Hoodlumz” exudes an old-school Memphis vibe. The track, clocking in at just under two minutes, showcases all three rappers delivering strong and purposeful verses. While Curry’s prowess is expected, Rocky’s performance on this track stands out with a heightened sense of focus and skill. Take a listen below.
King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 will be available on 7/19 via Loma Vista Recordings.
