Halifax indie rock band Nap Eyes has recently unveiled three new tracks – “Feline Race Wave,” “Ice Grass Underpass,” and “Demons.” These releases hinted at something bigger on the horizon, and today, Nap Eyes revealed their upcoming album The Neon Gate, which serves as a follow-up to their 2020 LP Snapshot Of A Beginner.
All three previously released tracks will be included on The Neon Gate, along with the serene and poetic new tune “Passageway.” Frontman Nigel Chapman shared his thoughts on the creation of the song:
Having had the final verse penned for a while, I discarded several earlier verses that didn’t quite resonate with me. One idle day, I began formulating the lyrics for the earlier verses in my mind without any instruments, which was a departure from my usual process. This unconventional method birthed a unique song unlike anything I’ve written before.
