Naima Bock’s New Music on TunesDeck: “Kaley” & “Further Away”

Naima Bock – “Kaley” & “Further Away”

Naima Bock, known for her acclaimed debut album Giant Palm, has announced her upcoming second LP Below A Massive Dark Land with two fresh singles, “Kaley” and “Further Away.”

During her time living in her grandmother’s shed in South London, Bock started writing most of the songs for the album, exploring new melodic ideas with the violin she had recently taken up. The two singles, “Kaley” and “Further Away,” demonstrate Bock’s versatility. While “Kaley” features powerful vocals and vibrant horns, “Further Away” relies on delicate vocals accompanied by a fingerpicked guitar, evoking a haunting atmosphere. Bock shared her insights on the songs:

“Kaley” was written during my stay at a friend’s place in Tucson; it explores themes of betrayal and the subsequent feeling of aimlessness. At the time, I lacked a plan or direction for myself, let alone for anyone else. “Further Away” was penned in Greece while I was trying to learn the mini Bouzouki and missing someone.

Have a listen to “Kaley” and “Further Away” below.
