Nada Surf’s Latest Release on TunesDeck

Nada Surf – “New Propeller”

Nada Surf is set to unveil their upcoming album Moon Mirror in September, serving as a sequel to 2020’s Never Not Together. Introducing the album with the lead single “In Front Of Me Now,” the long-standing indie rock band also presents another track titled “New Propeller.”

Amidst ongoing discussions about adapting to “new normals,” “New Propeller” offers solace in the notion that certain fundamental aspects of life persist despite continuous evolution. Matthew Caws croons on the chorus, “Don’t be afraid/ You won’t be replaced/ Don’t be afraid/ You won’t be erased.” In a press release, he shared his thoughts on the song:

[“New Propeller”] reflects on changes. Throughout most years and decades, the feeling often prevails that the present is diverging from the past, ushering in a new phase, occasionally a darker one. That ‘things are different now.’ Recent years are no exception to this sentiment. It’s evident that changes are occurring faster than ever, with AI posing new questions, and the political landscape vastly altered from just a few years back. Mark Pellington guided us through the uncertainties of the current era with our ‘Just Wait’ video in 2021, and now he’s collaborating with us once more… Change is inevitable, and while certain aspects of our lives may transform or disappear, sustaining a sense of community gives me hope that we can navigate through life feeling fully present and alive.

Moon Mirror will be released on 9/13 through New West.
