Mount Eerie’s Enigmatic Track “I Saw Another Bird” Takes Flight on TunesDeck

Mount Eerie – “I Saw Another Bird”

In just a month, Phil Elverum will make his comeback as Mount Eerie with a new album titled Night Palace, his first release in five years. This extensive album features 26 tracks, two of which, “I Walk” and “Broom Of Wind,” have already been teased. Today, he introduced another track, “I Saw Another Bird.”

The song’s title nods to a project from 2017, connecting back to A Crow Looked At Me. Elverum explains, “While the title may seem simple, it actually dives deep into significant emotions. We’re just small beings working beneath the grandness that surrounds us, yet that magnificence is always present. This track explores how we can take a moment to relax and engage with that great mystery in a playful way.”

“I Saw Another Bird” has an upbeat rhythm, propelled by lively guitar strumming that transitions into a wave of distortion. Elverum’s lyrics include, “I can’t remember having crossed a threshold/ Between the dust and the alive.” You can check out the song’s lyric video below.

Mark your calendars: Night Palace will be released on November 1 through P.W. Elverum & Sun.
