Mica Levi, known for being the former Micachu And The Shapes leader, an award-winning film score composer, and part of bands like Good Sad Happy Bad, Spresso, and Tirzah, has recently joined the renowned electronic label Hyperdub. Their latest single for the label, titled “slob air,” has just been released. This track is a departure from the typical Levi style and stands out as an unconventional Hyperdub release. “slob air” stretches over 12 minutes, creating a dreamy drone filled with ethereal keyboard sounds layered over a solid live drum set rhythm. Is this a glimpse into the future of shoegaze music, or simply the serene sounds of a heavenly jog? Check out the video below.
The “slob air” 12″ will be available on 9/6 through Hyperdub. You can pre-order it here.
