Melodic Mood: Grumpy’s Latest Release “Holding” on TunesDeck

Grumpy – “Holding”

The new EP titled Wolfed by Grumpy is set to debut in just a few days. Following the release of their early singles “Saltlick” and “Flower,” which highlighted their unique blend of musical styles, the band has unveiled another track called “Holding.” This latest release shifts toward a shoegaze sound, featuring Heaven Schmitt’s vocals that pierce through the dense musical landscape like vivid flashes of light.

Heaven Schmitt shared her thoughts on the song:

I had never witnessed her cry before, and it was rare for me to grasp her emotions fully. On that day, I saw her suffering like never before. During a Facetime call, I witnessed her tears, but soon she expressed her desire to end the call. It must have been significant for her to allow me to see her in that moment of vulnerability. We often struggle with verbal communication. I felt helpless, wishing I could comfort her physically.

After she hung up, I poured my feelings into this song in about 15 minutes, longing to offer her words, despite knowing they may not be what she needed.

Mark your calendars, as Wolfed will be available on October 25 through Bayonet.
