Marisa Anderson & Luke Schneider Take Flight with “First Bounce Fly Fly Fly” on TunesDeck

Marisa Anderson & Luke Schneider – “first bounce fly fly fly”

Marisa Anderson from Portland and Luke Schneider from Nashville have collaborated on a new track called “first bounce fly fly fly.” This piece embodies the rich, immersive soundscape one might anticipate from their partnership. Anderson reflected on their collaboration, sharing:

After catching one of Luke’s performances in Portland, we struck up a conversation. Fascinatingly, I was scheduled to be in Nashville a few months later, so we decided to meet in the studio. I find it refreshing to record with someone new; it captures raw, spontaneous musical moments and that chemistry can never be replicated. Those experiences are incredibly valuable!

Schneider also shared his thoughts:

I’ve always admired Marisa’s powerful guitar skills. We exchanged brief introductions before she agreed to improvise while visiting Nashville. It was an enjoyable process exploring both our musical styles—testing the limits of ambience and structure, discord, and resolution, alongside maintaining tempo—all while developing our personal rapport. I look forward to more collaborative jam sessions with her!

You can listen to “first bounce fly fly fly” below.

Additionally, Anderson and Schneider are part of the latest edition of Bob Holmes’ curated music series Across The Horizon, which is also released today.
