Margo Price Teams Up with Billy Strings for Her Soulful Anthem “Too Stoned To Cry”

Margo Price – “Too Stoned To Cry” (Feat. Billy Strings)

Billy Strings is making waves once again! This time, the talented bluegrass musician features on “Too Stoned To Cry,” a fresh ballad by established alt-country artist Margo Price. This song marks a fresh chapter for Price, showcasing a return to her country roots with a classic sound that contrasts sharply with her previous psych-rock influence. It’s clear that this new direction resonates with her audience.

Price expressed her excitement about collaborating with Strings:

Working with Billy on this track was a true delight. His vocals were spot on, and his guitar work was stunning. I’ve been eager to record this song for years after hearing Andrew Combs perform it. While working on an Orville Peck track with my friend Beau Bedford, I asked him to help produce this single. He assembled an amazing band featuring my husband Jeremy Ivey on acoustic, Aksel Coe on drums, Misa Arriaga on bass, Russ Pahl on pedal steel, and Joey McClellan on electric guitar. Once Billy added his voice and guitar, I realized this would be a memorable recording.

For more insights on the track, Price shared her thoughts on her Substack, Rawdoggin’ Reality. Check out the song below.
