This February, Madi Diaz unveiled her sixth studio album titled Weird Faith. Now, the Canadian singer-songwriter has revealed a deluxe edition and has released a new track called “Worst Case Scenario.”
In discussing “Worst Case Scenario,” Diaz shared, “When fear arises, I often reflect on a personal theory I’ve formed over the years: Life rarely unfolds as I expect it to—sometimes for the better, other times not. I find myself visualizing various scenarios in my mind, almost as a strategy to prepare for potential challenges. By imagining the worst and brainstorming survival tactics, I hope to prevent those situations from occurring. This song embodies that mindset.”
On the deluxe edition, she stated:
The tracks and demos included here celebrate the Weird Faith era. Some of these demos encapsulate a unique spark from the moment they were written, a magic that can never be replicated. It’s crucial to honor those fleeting moments. There’s a distinct energy right after a song is completed and performed. Each time I perform, I strive to capture that freshness, that potential for new insights and experiences. I hope these demos convey what these songs evoked for me and perhaps resonate with you as well.
The Weird Faith (Deluxe Edition) includes a reimagined version of “For Months Now” featuring Lizzy McAlpine, along with the earlier collaborative track “One Less Question” with Lennon Stella. Check out “Worst Case Scenario” below.
