Lupe Fiasco recently dropped the album Samurai and shared insights about it. In a conversation, he also talked about Child Rebel Soldier, his former supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell Williams known for sampling songs by Thom Yorke. Today, Fiasco unveiled an unreleased CRS track called “SHRINK” that samples Radiohead’s Kid A song “Optimistic.”
Fiasco hinted at the possibility of more Radiohead-sampled tracks from the CRS archives, with “SHRINK” being one of them. Regarding CRS disbanding, he mentioned, “Pharrell is at Louis Vuitton, Ye is in some factory somewhere making socks. So 1723684455, I’m like forget it, I’m going to revive CRS in the next six months, maybe next year — Tyler has one of the CRS records — but we’re going back to the original vibe, which was me rapping over Radiohead beats.” Listen to “SHRINK” below.
