Introducing Longplayer by Mikey Long
Mikey Long, known for his work as a guitarist in the folk-rock band Drugdealer, has launched a new project called Longplayer. His debut singles, “My Dreams Of You” and “Find Your Way,” signal this new musical direction.
The songs echo the retro vibe of his previous work, featuring catchy pop melodies. “My Dreams Of You” is adorned with electric guitar accents reminiscent of the Deadheads, while “Find Your Way” is an inspiring piano ballad. Long shares:
“My Dreams of You” and “Find Your Way” are best experienced on the move, reflecting their creation during travels between coasts and amidst Drugdealer tours. Whether you’re on a city-bound train or cruising along the PCH, I hope these tunes offer a glimpse into my world. They are daydreams and escapes, with their essence hidden within the song structure, sometimes holding the key to their message.
