Kelly Clarkson is being recognized for her cover performances. Recently, she sang Lit’s pop-punk classic “My Own Worst Enemy” on her show’s Kellyoke segment. In return, Lit is expressing their appreciation by releasing a cover of her 2004 hit “Breakaway.”
On Instagram, Lit shared, “Kelly Clarkson has covered ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ on multiple occasions so we decided to do something fun and rock one of her big smash hits.” They mentioned that “Breakaway” was originally written by Avril Lavigne. Lit worked on the cover while on the go, using tour buses, airstream trailers, and wherever they could plug in, with @imtaylorcarroll co-producing the track. They invite everyone to enjoy it and add it to their summer playlists.
