The upcoming movie Despicable Me 4 is set to hit theaters soon, bringing back the antics of the beloved Minions. As part of the promotional efforts, Lil Yachty has unveiled a track called “Lil Mega Minion,” adding to the Minion-related content frenzy that ensues during such movie releases.
While it’s uncertain whether “Lil Mega Minion” will be featured in Despicable Me 4 or if it solely serves as a marketing tool, the song is reminiscent of the Minion culture. Directed by Cole Bennett, the music video features Zane Lowe alongside various Minions, capturing the whimsical essence of the franchise.
Not intended to be a groundbreaking piece in Lil Yachty’s discography unless it unexpectedly gains massive popularity, “Lil Mega Minion” follows the footsteps of similar collaborations between rappers and Minion themes, such as “Rich Minion” by Yeat for the movie Minions: The Rise Of Gru.
With its playful and catchy lyrics, “Lil Mega Minion” showcases Lil Yachty’s unique sound, adding a fun twist to the Despicable Me franchise.
