Kele Okereke, the frontman of Bloc Party, is currently balancing his time between his band and his individual projects. Bloc Party’s latest release was the High Life EP last year, followed by the single “Flirting Again” a few months back. Today, Kele has revealed that he’s set to launch a new solo album titled The Singing Winds Pt. 3, scheduled for early next year.
Since the pandemic, Kele has been working on a series of solo albums he calls The Elements. Earlier this year, he dropped The Flames Pt. 2, making The Singing Winds the third installment. This upcoming album features the track “Hometown Edge,” released last month, alongside a new breakup-themed song titled “It Wasn’t Meant To Be.” He shares his thoughts on the emotionally charged track:
After a relationship ends, the desire to find closure may exist, but sometimes it’s impossible to ignore the pain caused by someone you once cared for. This song reflects the anger hidden beneath polite facades.
