Katie Gavin from MUNA is set to release her first solo album titled What A Relief next month. After sharing singles like “Aftertaste” and “Casual Drug Use,” she has now introduced a new song, “Inconsolable,” which she first performed live in LA alongside the Japanese House.
“This song was written back in March 2020,” Gavin shared.
I found myself reflecting on how relationships can feel like navigating an unlearned language. Everyone has unique backgrounds and experiences with love, making it challenging to connect. It’s heartwarming that we keep trying. We experimented with various recording styles but decided to embrace a bluegrass sound with Sara and Sean Watkins. We captured it in about ten minutes on one of our final studio days, which was incredibly memorable. The music video, directed by Amalia Irons, was a collaborative effort with many friends, and I truly appreciate their support.

The album What A Relief will be available on 10/25 through Saddest Factory Records.
