Katie Gavin Launches Solo Album with New Single Featuring Mitski

Katie Gavin, the vocalist from MUNA, has debuted her first solo album titled What A Relief, released today under Phoebe Bridgers’ label, Saddest Factory Records. In conjunction with this release, she has unveiled a new single, “As Good As It Gets,” featuring Mitski. This track adds to her earlier singles, “Casual Drug Use,” “Aftertaste,” and “Inconsolable.”

The reflective song “As Good As It Gets” is accompanied by a music video that showcases both Gavin and Mitski, directed by Alexa Viscius. The song features simple guitar melodies as Gavin contemplates the sufficiency of a relationship that is merely acceptable. Lyrics such as “Do I disappoint you? / Am I not what I seemed?” express her feelings of disillusionment in love.
