Jónsi’s Latest Releases on TunesDeck

Jónsi – “Flicker” & “Cherry Blossom”

In a recent development, Jónsi, the frontman of Icelandic band Sigur Rós, is back with solo music. He is set to release a new album titled First Light, which was initially intended to be a video game soundtrack before evolving into a standalone project following his surprise LP Obsidian in 2021.

The upcoming album, distributed by Lakeshore Records and Myndstream, a company focusing on music for health and well-being, offers a blend of orchestral pieces titled “Flicker” and “Cherry Blossom” devoid of vocals. Despite the absence of Jónsi’s iconic vocals, the tracks present a serene and atmospheric quality suitable for video game scores.

Jónsi elaborates on the concept behind First Light in a statement, envisioning it as an immersive world of peace and harmony amidst global turmoil, inspired by beauty, hope, and unity through music.
