This week, Japanese-Canadian artist Jonah Yano and his band, the Heavy Loop, are set to unveil their new self-titled album. Yano has a long-time friendship and collaboration with Clairo, who previously contributed backup vocals and played clarinet on his track “concentrate” released in 2023. Today, Yano has dropped “Snowpath,” a new collaboration with Clairo.
“Snowpath” is a brief and emotionally resonant song featuring Clairo on lead vocals. Her gentle voice accompanies acoustic guitar and woodwind instruments, creating an intimate atmosphere similar to the style found in her own work. Enjoy the track below.
Jonah Yano & The Heavy Loop will be released on October 4th under Innovative Leisure. The following day, Yano and his band will conduct a 24-hour live improvised performance featuring various special guests. This event will be streamed live here beginning at 12 PM ET, and the public can attend at Toronto’s Top Top Studios starting at 7 PM.
