A surprising collaboration has emerged as John Legend and Sufjan Stevens team up to create a children’s album titled My Favorite Dream. The album, set to be released in three weeks, consists of sing-alongs, lullabies, Legend’s originals, Fisher-Price song covers, and bonus tracks.
Legend’s inspiration for this project stemmed from his own childhood and current role as a father to Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren with wife Chrissy Teigen. Music has always been a significant part of their family interactions and communication.
After covering a song from the Fisher-Price Kick & Play Piano Gym, Legend was drawn to Stevens for his whimsical and dreamy musical style. Stevens’ arrangements and soundscapes perfectly complemented Legend’s vision for the album.
The lead single “L-O-V-E,” featuring vocals from Teigen and their two eldest children, offers a glimpse into the heartwarming essence of the album. The tracklist includes both originals and bonus tracks, catering to children and families alike.
