Jaylen Brown Collaborates with FERG on New Rap Single

Jaylen Brown Is Out Here Rapping With FERG

This season, the Boston Celtics clinched their first NBA title since 2008, dominating over the Mavericks. Jaylen Brown, a key player for the Celtics, was named the Finals MVP. However, despite his stellar performance, he was not chosen to represent the American Olympic team. Brown believes this decision was influenced by his ongoing conflict with the Nike corporation. In response, he has ventured into the world of rap music to express his feelings.

Although Jaylen Brown does not specifically rap about his Nike dispute in his debut single released today, there are hints of his experiences in the industry. Titled “Just Do It,” the song features a collaboration with FERG, formerly known as A$AP Ferg. FERG recently adopted a new moniker and has been actively engaged in music, including a recent appearance on Denzel Curry’s track “Hot One.” Furthermore, Jaylen Brown had a prior guest spot on FERG’s 2020 mixtape Floor Seats II.

While Jaylen Brown displays competence as a rapper in “Just Do It,” his delivery may come off as lacking vigor or enthusiasm. This contrasts with expectations one might have for a debut rap single, where one would anticipate a more spirited approach. FERG’s contribution to the track is adequate. In the video directed by Jamar Harding, FERG presents Brown with a mysterious item that promises to alter his demeanor. The video can be viewed below.

The single “Just Do It” is now available through Create Music Group.
