Jane’s Addiction Reveals First New Track by Original Lineup Since Ritual de lo Habitual

Jane’s Addiction Release First New Song With Original Lineup Since Ritual de lo Habitual

The original members of Jane’s Addiction, Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins, reunited on stage in London two months ago after more than a decade. They premiered a new track, “Imminent Redemption,” which is now available as a studio recording. This marks the classic lineup’s first new release since their album “Ritual De Lo Habitual” in 1990, as Avery was replaced by Chris Chaney in the band’s albums released in 2003 and 2011. Although in 2009, the NINJA tour sampler included re-recorded songs from a 1987 live album with Avery, it didn’t count as entirely new music.

The band expressed in a press release, “It is a new experience this time around, having everyone reunite and create new music. It’s a significant moment. Welcome to the next phase of Jane’s Addiction. ‘Imminent Redemption’ is just the start.” Listen to the track below.

Casey Niccoli, a long-time creative contributor to Jane’s Addiction, recently shared about feeling excluded from the band’s history. One way to seek “imminent redemption” could be for Farrell to acknowledge her contributions once again.
