In early 2023, the New Jersey band High. (with the period included) emerged onto the scene with their debut EP released by the notable Philly label, Julia’s War. They have now unveiled plans to drop a new EP titled Come Back Down, which will be available in January through the respected Kanine Records. The lead single, “In A Hole,” released today, blends captivating atmospherics with vibrant energy, epitomizing the essence of their music. Renowned artist and producer Matthew Molnar, known for his involvement with Friends/Pagan Rituals/Kissing Is A Crime, has produced this track, showcasing his exceptional talent.
Christian Castan, the vocalist for High., provided insights on “In A Hole”:
“In A Hole” draws inspiration from my close friendships. It explores themes of depression and how friends can uplift you from it. It reflects on the serenity and sense of belonging I sought during difficult childhood experiences and finally achieved. One lyric reads, “These are the new stars, they burst alive.” It captures the joy of living fully and the desire to hold onto that feeling.
