Haley Heynderickx has made her comeback with the release of “Seed Of A Seed” in July, marking her first new music since her beloved 2018 album I Need To Start A Garden. This song also serves as the title track for her upcoming second album, which she revealed today.
Scheduled for release on November 1, Seed Of A Seed includes a new expansive single, “Foxglove,” which is available now. The singer-songwriter from Portland describes “Foxglove” as her anthem for longing for a more tranquil and nature-oriented lifestyle, stating, “Sometimes it all feels so distant — being in a city away from a life connected to nature.”
The album development started with a solid “core jazz boy band,” including Daniel Rossi on drums, Denzel Mendoza on trombone, and Matthew Holmes playing both electric and upright bass. Later contributions were made by electric guitarist William Seiji Marsh and cellist Caleigh Drane. Seed Of A Seed addresses themes like technology, overconsumption, and consumerism — and how these elements affect our relationship with the natural world. You can watch the stunning music video for “Foxglove” below.
Mark your calendars: Seed Of A Seed releases on November 1 through Mama Bird Recording Co.
