Great Grandpa, known for their 2019 album Four Of Arrows, have returned with a new single titled “Kid” after five years of silence. The indie rock band has also announced their signing with Run For Cover Records.
Amidst uncertainties during the pandemic, the band contemplated their future. Plans for a follow-up to Four Of Arrows were put on hold as each member pursued their separate paths. Lead singer Al Menne, who released a solo album last year, expressed his desire to reunite with the band after missing his friends. Despite discarding most of their recorded material, they decided to keep “Kid” as their newest offering.
The lyrics of “Kid” were penned by Pat and Carrie Goodwin following their personal loss from a miscarriage. The song captures a poignant essence, resembling a cinematic symphony with its grand and emotional scope. Produced by Mike Davis and Sam Rosson, with contributions from Dylan Hanwright and Pat from the band, “Kid” is a powerful musical piece that resonates deeply with its listeners.
