Foreigner Unveils New Track “Turning Back The Time” to Mark Rock Hall Induction (Available on TunesDeck)

Foreigner Share Previously Unreleased “Turning Back The Time” To Celebrate Rock Hall Induction

Popular classic rock band Foreigner, known for their massive commercial success in the ’80s and ’90s, is finally getting recognition by being inducted into the prestigious Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. To commemorate this achievement, Foreigner has revealed a new greatest-hits album and shared an unreleased track titled “Turning Back The Time,” written by the band’s founding members Mick Jones and Lou Gramm, alongside producer Marti Frederiksen.

The upcoming album Turning Back The Time features hit songs from Foreigner’s initial six highly successful albums and includes the previously unheard title track. “Turning Back The Time” serves as the band’s first new release in nearly a decade, reflecting on the nostalgia of discovering rock ‘n’ roll and reminiscing about Foreigner’s early days of fame.

The collaboration on “Turning Back The Time” originally began between Lou Gramm and Mick Jones. While Gramm departed from the band in 2003, Jones, despite battling Parkinson’s disease and not actively performing, revisited the song recently and revamped it with Marti Frederiksen. The song’s foundation dates back to 1996 when Jones and Gramm initially recorded the demo together, utilizing Gramm’s vocals from that original session. Opening up to Billboard, Jones mentioned:

“There are several songs that Lou Gramm and I co-wrote but never released. ‘Turning Back The Time’ was a collaboration with Marti Frederiksen. We revisited and reworked the song with a fresh perspective given the time that had passed. The song’s essence resonated with us more now than before, and we felt it was the perfect occasion to share it with the world, especially with our upcoming Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction.”

The album Turning Back The Time will be available on 10/4.
