Shutdown Share “By Your Side” From First EP Of New Music In 24 Years

Shutdown Returns with New EP “By Your Side”

Shutdown, once a prominent name in New York City’s hardcore music scene, took a hiatus after their 2000 album Few And Far Between. They reunited briefly before stepping back until 2010. Last year, they released an EP featuring re-recorded tracks called Still… Against All Odds. Now, they are making a comeback with an upcoming EP titled By Your Side, with the lead single now available.

Della Croce of Shutdown shared insights in a recent press statement:

“We never officially disbanded. We just paused touring to pursue different interests. Although we played infrequently, there were side projects in play, and we occasionally wrote new Shutdown material. It became clear that we needed direction on our musical vision. Over the past few years, we’ve discussed our growth as artists and wanted to share that journey.”

The song “By Your Side” carries a theme of resilience and features a video filmed at the renowned LES Coleman Skatepark. You can watch it below along with the full tracklist for the EP.

  1. “Our Time”

  3. “Untouchable”
  4. “Is This The End”

The EP By Your Side is set to release on January 17 under Equal Vision.
