Don Heffington, notable drummer and singer-songwriter from Lone Justice, passed away in 2021 at the age of 70 due to leukemia. To honor his legacy, a tribute album titled Tonight I’ll Go Down Swingin’: A Tribute To Don Heffington has been released, which features Fiona Apple performing his 2016 track “Lately.”
Fiona Apple is just one of the many esteemed artists Heffington collaborated with throughout his career. Earlier in the year, she also worked with Iron & Wine on the song “All In Good Time.” Her previous album, Fetch The Bolt Cutters, was recognized as the top album of 2020.
