Envy, the Japanese band known for their post-rock, hardcore, and shoegaze sound, is set to release their eighth album in October. Titled Eunoia, this album comes after their 2022 release Seimei. The lead single from the upcoming album, “Beyond The Raindrops,” has already been shared by Envy on Bandcamp.
Founding member of Envy, Nobukata Kawai, described the album as an exploration of their own vulnerabilities. The songs reflect a search for hope and capture the emotions experienced in daily life. Kawai praised the lyrical depth brought by Tetsu without explicitly explaining the songs. The current album marks six years since the band’s lineup changed, showcasing a strong bond of trust among the members, evident in their work.
