The Norwegian band Onsloow has unveiled their debut album Full Speed Anywhere Else under Tiny Engines, starting with their lead single “Taxi.” They’ve now released a new track titled “Brakes,” which showcases their strong presence in the melodic indie rock scene infused with emo elements. They provided some insights on the song to Brooklyn Vegan:
“Brakes” marks a step up for us—it’s an energizing and more potent piece. It draws inspiration from the indie rock and emocore sounds of the late ’90s, albeit with our unique flair. The lyrics reflect a retrospective look at a past relationship, capturing the difficulty of remembering the emotions experienced during those impactful times. It combines feelings of nostalgia and frustration but is backed with lively energy. Our goal was to merge deep emotions with a catchy, dynamic sound that inspires movement.

The album Full Speed Anywhere Else is set for release on 10/25 through Tiny Engines.
