ELUCID – “THE WORLD IS DOG”

Prominent New York underground rapper ELUCID, who is part of the duo Armand Hammer, has had a busy schedule lately. Recently, he featured on the track “Remains” alongside Hemlock Ernst, the indie-rap persona of Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring. Additionally, he collaborated with the experimental jazz group ØKSE for their compelling single “Skopje.” Next month, he will unveil his highly anticipated solo album REVELATOR.

ELUCID co-produced a significant portion of REVELATOR with electronic artist Jon Nellen, featuring contributions from jazz bassist Luke Stewart on several tracks. We have already heard “INSTANT TRANSFER,” a collaboration with fellow Armand Hammer member billy woods, and “SLUM OF A DISREGARD.” Today, ELUCID has released a new song titled “THE WORLD IS DOG.” While it may seem reminiscent of Chat Pile’s “I Am Dog Now,” it’s intriguing to see various bold artists utilizing similar themes concurrently.

“THE WORLD IS DOG” delivers a raw and energetic take on rap expressionism, with Nellen’s production creating a complex texture of abrasive sounds over a classic breakbeat. According to ELUCID, this track, inspired by Miles Davis, emerged from his initial session with Nellen and played a key role in defining the album’s sonic direction and commitment to intensity. Below, you can listen to “THE WORLD IS DOG” and view ELUCID’s newly announced tour schedule.
