In June, Ela Minus released “Combat,” marking her first single since her debut album in 2020. This track is set to close her upcoming album Dia, which is expected to drop in January. Today, she has unveiled another new song titled “Broken.”
Minus crafted Dia during her travels across various cities including California’s Mojave Desert, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Mexico City, and London. “Broken” reflects her signature electronic style combined with classic singer-songwriter elements, emphasizing her vocals over an upbeat, four-on-the-floor rhythm.
About “Broken,” Minus shared, “I started writing this thinking I was perfectly fine and finished writing knowing I was not. Went to hell and back, left all the way/ Now I’m broken.” The song builds momentum with driving synths and percussion, hinting at hope. She co-directed the accompanying music video with Losmose, which can be viewed below.
