The acclaimed London punk band High Vis, recognized as a Stereogum Band To Watch in 2022, is set to drop their latest album Guided Tour soon. Having had a preview of the album, I can confidently say it’s fantastic. If you’ve already heard tracks like “Mob DLA,” “Mind’s A Lie,” and “Drop Me Out,” then you likely have an idea of what’s coming. Additionally, the band has teamed up with their tour companions Show Me The Body on the recent track “Stomach.” With the release of Guided Tour just around the corner, High Vis has unveiled the title track from the album.
The song “Guided Tour,” which opens the album, explores grooves reminiscent of the Madchester scene. It features a vibrant bassline and shimmering guitars that pay homage to several decades of UK indie with a danceable twist. Nevertheless, frontman Graham Sayle’s gritty vocals ensure that the band’s roots in punk and hardcore shine through, even in their more diverse offerings. This is truly an excellent track. Listen below.
Guided Tour will be released on October 18 under Dais Records.
