Fascinated by Mars Audiac Quintet this year, I’m drawn to anything likened to Stereolab. Enter Starcleaner Reunion. The NYC-based band impresses with their new single “The Hand That I Put Down,” released today.
Today also marks the announcement of their second EP, Café Life, by the five-piece band consisting of singer Jo Roman, guitarists Pat Drummond and Neil Torman, bassist Adam Kenter, and drummer Sam Unger. Despite meeting in a New Jersey high school, they humorously identify as “Euro-pop” but exude the same charm and ease that define Stereolab. Listen for yourself below.
