Sonagi’s new EP “Everything Is Longing” has gained support from notable figures in screamo and post-hardcore. Steve Roche from Off Minor/Saetia handled the recording, and the EP is released on Jeremy Bolm’s Secret Voice label, which previously released the impressive screamo compilation “Balladeers, Redefined.” The opening track, “Rain Shadow,” showcases the explosive and gratifying skramz sound of the band, fronted by Ryann Slauson from Closer.
“Everything Is Longing” consists of four tracks that exhibit exceptional musicality and adept control of dynamics. While leaning towards a less abrasive style within the genre, the music features rich melodic guitar work and vocals that convey emotion without becoming harsh. Sonagi demonstrates versatility by embracing intensity when necessary.
