Hear Johnny Marr + The Healers’ Previously Unreleased “All Out Attack”

Johnny Marr, the former guitarist of the iconic band The Smiths, released an album titled Boomslang with his band The Healers back in 2003. After 21 years, this album will be reissued in its entirety this September, featuring seven previously unreleased tracks, one of which is “All Out Attack” released recently.

Following the breakup of The Smiths in 1987, Marr collaborated with various artists such as The Pretenders, The The, Pet Shop Boys, and more. This led him to form The Healers with drummer Zak Starkey, bassist Alonza Bevan, and others, culminating in the recording of Boomslang, their sole album. Reflecting on this period, Marr shared:

We isolated ourselves to explore new ways of creating music, merging guitars and percussion in one space and incorporating electronic technology in our process. It was all about creativity and experimentation.

Now, two decades later, reimagining the music and revisiting the songs that were left out initially is a rewarding experience for me. The Healers and our music were a unique chapter in my career, and I am grateful for the opportunity.
