Discover Ben Folds’ Festive Melodies from His Debut Christmas Album, Sleigher!

Hear Two Songs From Ben Folds’ First Christmas Album Sleigher

Ben Folds, known for his piano brilliance, unveiled his album What Matters Most last year. Now, he’s ready to introduce his debut Christmas album titled Sleigher, set to release next month. The album features mostly original tracks with a few classic covers sprinkled in. (Yes, it’s a playful pun!)

Folds shared his reflections on Sleigher:

Christmas is a time that remains unchanged yet allows for personal reflection and growth. It prompts deep introspection about our identity and evolution over time. Whether reminiscing about past Christmases or observing the evolution of holiday music through decades, this experience offers significant insights. While I cherish timeless holiday classics, I felt the need to authentically express myself in my songs, ensuring everything resonates with sincerity.

He has released one cover and one original track as a preview. The cover, “The Christmas Song,” originally penned by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé in 1945, became famous thanks to Nat King Cole. Folds offers a more traditional rendition accompanied by a surprising harmonica solo. For the original, “We Could Have This,” he collaborates with actress and musician Lindsey Kraft, showcasing a beautiful duet. Enjoy both tracks below along with the full tracklist.
