A new addition to the music scene, British electronic artist Clark, released his latest album Sus Dog along with Cave Dog last year. Now, he is set to unveil his score for the upcoming indie film, In Camera, by Naqqash Khalid. In preparation for the release, Clark has treated fans to a special cover song, tailor-made for the film.
The song titled “Superstar” has its origins dating back to 1969, when it was first recorded by Delaney & Bonnie. Even though the original version was a modest hit, the track became synonymous with The Carpenters, who delivered a poignant rendition that climbed to #2 on the charts in 1971. Over the years, other artists like Luther Vandross and Sonic Youth have also given their take on this classic. In his unique style, Clark now presents his cinematic interpretation of the beloved song.
Experience Clark’s haunting and emotive rendition of “Superstar” below, alongside the iconic versions by The Carpenters and Sonic Youth.
Clark’s In Camera soundtrack is set for release on 9/13.
