Bando Stone & The New World by Donald Glover, his last album as Childish Gambino, will be released on July 19th. Last week, he shared the lead single “Lithonia” and hosted an exclusive listening party at Manhattan’s Little Island.
During the event, Glover played a few tracks from Bando Stone to a small audience. The album reportedly features a lineup of talented guests including Steve Lacy, Flo Milli, Khruangbin, Amaarae, Jorja Smith, Chloe Bailey, and even Glover’s son. He also co-produced the album with Max Martin, Michael Uzowuru, and Ludwig Göransson, who worked on Gambino’s 2013 LP Because The Internet.
At the listening party, Glover performed “Lithonia” live for the first time, singing along with a backing track. He also premiered a couple of music videos from his May release Atavista. Check out the event highlights below.
